白川郷 (Shirakawa-go) is a UNESCO world heritage site situated in 岐阜県 (Gifu prefecture). This trip was my first time in the area, and the weather was extraordinary. 明日香 (Asuka) and I spent to days in the village, including and evening and night in one of the local houses. We had an excellent dinner, and slept very well. Far from big cities, we just heard the wind and insects singing. I hope I can visit the place at a different season to see the changes in fauna and flora.
