November 2005: 鬼怒川 (Kinugawa, Japan) 鬼怒川 (Kinugawa) is very close from 日光 (Nikko). It is not as touristic but, I feel, it is more enjoyable, especially in autumn when the leaves turn gold and crimson. I organised my second trip there with a few good friends: Alexander, Christian, 亮助 (Ryosuke), and Kathy. We spent the night in a 旅館 (ryokan) in which we had very good food and a revigorating sleep.

October 2005: Fashion show in 大阪 (Osaka, Japan) The International Symposium on Wearable Computers (aka ISWC2005) took place that year in 大阪 (Osaka). I attended the talks and could enjoy a fashion show dedicated to wearable computers. The majority of models were proposed by . The designs were more aesthetic than functional, but this is bound to change in the coming years. The organization of such a fashion show in 大阪 (Osaka) is quite natural because the famous specialist formerly belonged to , and is still nearby at .

September 2005: Mount Saint Helens (United States of America) Mount Saint Helens is a few hours from Seattle, by car. The area is famous for a devastating volcanic eruption that occurred there in 1980. Its marks are quite visible: whole areas have completely lost their vegetation, other contain trees that died due to toxic fumes, and animals are scarce. I went there with Ruth (my preferred geologist and a former employee of the NASA), and we enjoyed a very pleasant hike.
